Pre and Primary Teaching Course
B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): The Bachelor of Education is an undergraduate academic degree awarded to students who complete a course or program in the field of education. Commonly known as B.Ed., this qualification prepares students to become teachers in schools.
The B.Ed. degree program typically lasts one year, divided into two or more semesters. It is a mandatory requirement for teaching in higher primary schools and high schools. Students from the Arts stream are trained to teach subjects like History, Civics, Geography, and Languages, while Science stream students are trained to teach subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
The B.Ed. program is regulated by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), a statutory body responsible for maintaining standards in teacher education across India.
